100% original DDR sign. “End Of British Sector, Do Not Pass Beyond This Point” and beneath that the German langauge:”End Of The British Sector The Adjacent Area Belongs To The DDR. From a collection of a former Dutch Bolshewik. In the 1980’s the former Ducth Bolshewick travelled many times to the Soviet Union and the DDR with his friends. Sensing in 1989 that the DDR was about to collapse (this was also told to him by his DDR friends), he and some friends took the sign from it’s pole in Spandau/Raken wich was west of Berlin at night.
The sign is in good condition. Few marks wich can be expected from a sign what was actually used. Made of metal. On the back there still are the fastening brackets. Unique sign and reproduced many times but this is the real deal.
