Postcard made in the Soviet Union, 1954. The building on the postcard is the Lenin Museum in Moscow. The postcard has actually been used. The museum opened in 1936 as a testimony to Lenin’s role in the creation of the Soviet state. The collection contains 75,000 objects, including Lenin’s personal belongings, photographs and documents that shaped Soviet ideology for generations. After the events of October 1993, the Central Lenin Museum ceased its independent activities and now houses the Museum of the Patriotic War of 1812.
