This monument can be found in St. Petersburg (formerly known as Leningrad).
This momunent is made of pink granite and is 2,5 meters tall (984 inches).
It says: “On the 25th, of October 1917 fired the Aurora, who was laying in this harbour, her shots at the Winterpalace and marked the Great Socialistic Revolution, the beginning of a new era.”
No need to say that the Aurora was a important ship in Russian history. The ship was made in 1903 and most of the crew joined the Bolshevics who were preparing a communist revolution led by Lenin in 1917. This ship fired the first shot signalling the start of the October revolution.
In WWII the guns was taken off the ship to use it for the defence of Leningrad. After the war the Aurora was a navy training vessel and later, till this day, a museum located at St. Petersburg.
The desktop is made of a plastic material with metal fragments giving it a granite apparance. The inlays on the front and back are made of metal.
